rejection

in the state of virginia, we have to get our vehicles inspected every year. usually you get a nice yellow sticker with the date that the inspection expires on it and everything is nice and happy. last year andy and i bought a used land rover discovery. it can be seen here: http://eight-paws.com/gallery/SALTY. i absolutely love my truck, but when i recieved this light pink REJECTION sticker i just about fell over! turns out that it failed for a few reasons.. i have a brush bar on the front--it came with the land rover from land rover--and a new rule this year is that nothing can be in front of the headlights, well there are these little metal bars to keep the brush from scratching the truck, and they cover the head lights. --rejection number one. rejection number 2: one of the fog lights doesn't work. it never has, i bought the vehicle last year and it didn't work. i just spent 30 minutes dealing with rosenthal land rover in tysons corner --never buy a vehicle from them..they suck!!! somehow they managed to get the vehicle to pass inspection with the broken fog light, but i can't. so .....now we get to either take off both fog lights or buy a new one. (that will be $225 please). grrr. the third reason isn't too bad, we need new wiper plades..easy enough (and fair enough) to replace.

for those of you that live in a state that doesn't require yearly inspections, be happy! it is definately a pain in the ass to deal with!
