it was gone, but now it is back!

i blew up my laptop this morning. my usb port is broken (the protective plastic part came off, so the tongs are exposed), my battery was almost dead, so i decided to *dun, dun, dun , dunnnnn.....* plug it in!!! well i'm a klutz most of the time and i wasn't paying attention. i touched the power cord to the broken usb port. there was a *spark*, *poof*, and then this smell that was enough to get me out of the room. my laptop went dark. it wouldn't turn on.
i started a quest of finding a new laptop, but none of them were *my* laptop. when my husband got home, he wanted to take it apart, mainly because he didn't believe me about the processor speed. he was trying to find as many little screws to unscrew when he asked if i pushed the "reset" button. i didn't know i had a "reset" button, so ..no, i didn't push the "reset" button. he pushed it, and my wonderful laptop came back to life. it is so nice to be able to type this on **my** laptop, not some imposter trying to be mine!
today's pad image is the back of my laptop. if you look at the right side of the picture, you will see it is all scorched. i really did "blow up" my computer and i have documentary proof.
